Learning Excellence in Partnership
This expresses the essence of the Institute's philosophy of learning and teaching. Good learning takes place when an effective partnership is created between learners and teachers. Learners and teachers have responsibilities to each other, as well as to themselves. iIT is committed to offering high-quality lifelong learning together with flexible and innovative delivery that respects diversity and promotes excellence.
 

Goals of the Institute  

Breadth of Quality Programs: The Institute will prepare students to become leading technology professionals by enhancing their abilities in critical thinking and creativity, and instilling life long learning as an essential part of their maintaining and improving professional competence. Graduates will be prepared to support and drive the growth of the Philippine technology industry. The Institute will enhance its efforts to provide broad access coupled with a high retention rate. The result will be an abundant number of highly qualified technology bachelor's and master's level graduates. The Institute will also provide high quality technology related courses for students in other academic programs, and for a broad range of practicing professionals.

Professional Currency: Provide appealing education opportunities for practicing high-tech professionals designed to maintain their currency and competitiveness, to enhance career paths and mobility, and to provide opportunities to pursue more advanced educational degrees and credentials. The Institute will provide a spectrum of options - enrollment in a formal bachelor and masters degree program in collaboration with the Graduate School, highly specialized courses, and enrollment in certification courses that has worldwide recognition.

Industry/Community Partnerships: Create partnerships with IT industry leaders (Local and International) and IT local Community to provide an environment of challenging and rewarding experiences and opportunities for students, and of technology transfer and economic development derived from on faculty and collaborative research. Practicing professionals will join the faculty as part time lecturers to teach targeted concentration courses, and to bring unique expertise, experience, and professional practicing perspective to the program.

Student Retention: Develop programs and support structures to promote the highest levels of student retention. Academic evaluation of incoming students will ensure that students? initial programs are adapted to best serve their individual needs. An emphasis will be placed upon creating opportunities for students to become effective members appropriate learning cohorts. The Institute will place a particular emphasis on creating and maintaining environments conducive to the success of these students.

Pipeline of Well-Prepared Students: Collaborate with IT industry leaders and certification authorities to ensure academic programs respond to the rapidly accelerating pace of change in technology and global competitiveness. The Institute will offer a broad academic program, including strength in systems development, networking, project management, digital arts, mobile computing, e-commerce, and the likes. The Institute will continuously collaborate with industry leaders to evaluate and determine industry need that is critical in educational preparation.

People Empowerment: The Institute will initiate up-to-date technology learning changes reflected in ICT Integration Programs both for teaching and non-teaching personnel. This is to ensure that the Colegio's personnel are empowered with the necessary knowledge and skills when it comes to the use of technology in teaching, learning, research, management and delivery of administrative services.
